Wanted...Library volunteers

Wanted ... your time and your money. Both are wanted with regard to the Margaret Welch Memorial Library of Longville. First, the library is looking for volunteers to work in the library itself.

Mid-week resort trail hikes

The Itasca Moraine Chapter of the North Country Trail Assoc. has scheduled the second of three Mid-week Resort Hikes that are designed for people who have not hiked the trail before. Experienced hikers can join as well and have a good experience.

At least we can eat 'em

The rusty crayfish of Woman Lake may be in bigger trouble than I thought: Some 200 folks gobbled up more than 200 pounds of rusty crayfish at the First Annual Minnesota Bound Crayfish Boil held July 6 at Patrick's. Even Raven, the black Lab, nabbed a few.

Traffic deaths on the rise

Minnesota is suffering a deadly year on our roads. Traffic deaths this week topped the 200-death mark for the year and we are on pace for around 450 deaths for 2013, which would be 55 more than 2012.
