MnDOT to host open house for Hackensack Hwy 371 construction April 3

MnDOT will host an open house on Thursday, April 3 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Hackensack Community Center (310 Lake Ave. E). Attendees will find out the latest information on the Hwy. 371 reconstruction project scheduled for this year. Topics will include project schedule, traffic impacts, and alternative routes to use during construction. Project staff will be available to provide information about the project and answer questions. There will be no formal presentation, and attendees are welcome to arrive anytime during the meeting.

Beginning in May, this project includes constructing a roundabout at the intersection of Highway 371 and Cass County Road 5. Project elements also include reconstructing and paving Highway 371, sidewalk upgrades, utility improvements and replacing a box culvert near Barthelemy Avenue.

This project will include a safer road, safer intersections, longer lasting driving surface, improved drainage and pedestrian accessibility. It is expected to be complete mid-October, weather permitting.
