March 5, 1925
A Cass County feller named Jack, sat down by mistake on a tack, and jumped up to quick that for days he was sick, with one of those kinks in his back.
Because of a lack of business and the scarcity of homestead entries, the Duluth land office will be discontinued on April 30th.
The roundhouse foreman at Federal Dam moved his family here the past week.

March 3, 1950
Sleepy Hollow Tavern, owned by Earl and Fern Ditch, has been sold to Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bialke from Foley.
Iversons have started remodeling their liquor store in Boy River. They will enlarge the building later on.
Bill Gennings was calling on neighbors in Blind Lake and was taking orders for government potatoes.

March 6, 1975
Mabel McKeig of Federal Dam enjoyed visiting with the Chatfields of Boy River and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Toffle of Remer at the Minnesota Picnic in Harlingen, TX.
There were 9 ladies who attended sewing day at Salem Lutheran Church in Longville. They tied quilts and sewed quilt blocks.
Wayne Johnson went to Detroit Lakes on Thursday where he attended a Johnson Outboard meeting.

The Longville Women of Today, a non-profit community service organization which began in 1949 as the Mrs. Jaycees and in 1985 changed their name to the Minnesota Women of Today celebrates their 50th anniversary.
Bemidji State announces the Deans’ list: Federal Dam, Stacy Anne Greene; Hackensack, Todd Christenson, Lisa Ell, David Strunk; and Remer, Anne Ingwell.
Tiffany Wagenback, daughter of Ernie Wagenback of Remer, is a member of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University Sociology Club for 1999-2000.
