Storm are 5 - 7 after tough week
Hill City/Northland Storm girls basketball team hosted Aitkin Fri., Jan. 10 and walked away with a 48-53 loss. The Gobblers were another well matched team for the girls.
Nora Wake led the team with 22 points, five rebounds, and one assist for the night. Contributing 15 points, four steals, six rebounds and one assist was Charity Berg, while Bella Dunham scored nine points and had two steals, five rebounds and five assists. Top rebounder of the night was Maddy Barnes with ten, she also had two steals and four assits.
Saturday saw the girls head to Ely where they fell 31 - 57. Berg, Dunham and Wake were the top scorers for the day with nine, eight and seven respectively.
On Monday the Storm then hosted Chisholm in Hill City where they lost again 34-49. Dunham put up 10 points, while Barnes and Taylor Washburn both ended the evening with five. Berg added another four and Ashlyn Schwarz contributed three.
Other top statistics were Abby Zapzalka with six steals and two rebounds; Barnes with ten rebounds; Wake having five rebounds, one steal and one assist and Dunham with two steals, four rebounds and one assist.
The Storm hosted Fond du Lac Ojibwe on Thurs., Jan. 16, Littlefork-Big Falls on Fri., Jan. 17 and headed to McGregor to take on the Mercs on Mon., Jan. 20. On Tues., Jan 21 the girls find themselves in Greenway before hosting Cherry on Thurs., Jan. 23 and Laporte on Mon., Jan. 27, both in Remer.
