2025 Snow Time to Read at the Longville Library

Looking for a fun way to spend your winter days?  Then you may want to sign up for the Snow Time to Read Adult Winter Reading program at the Longville Library.  This program runs January 1st – February 28, 2025.

It’s simple and it’s just for fun with no obligation to finish. Stop in or call the Longville library to learn more or to sign up. It’s a great winter goal and an opportunity for fun prizes.

   Here’s how it works:

   • Register at the Longville Library.

   • Receive a free stylus pen (while supplies last) and a handcrafted bookmark made by patrons.

   • Pick up your reading log to track your reading or sign up at KRLS.beanstack.org

   • Read 10 books of your choice from January 1st to February 28th, 2025

   • With reading goal completed, come to the library to receive your choice of a free Snow Time to Read cozy coffee mug or a tumbler cup (while supplies last).

   • Those that complete the reading goal will be eligible to enter a drawing of their choice for an official Snow Time to Read sweatshirt bearing the official Snow Time to Read logo as well as enter the drawing for a grand prize gift basket.

Activities this year include: “Put Another Log on the Fire” game, featuring Minnesota Trivia questions. One question per week will be issued for a total of nine questions. Each correctly answered question enables a patron to put “a log on the fire” of the library fireplace backdrop. At the completion of the program, those with five or more logs will be eligible to choose a gift from the assorted gifts available. Those with nine logs will receive their gift prize in addition to a chance in a drawing for either a $50 gas card or $50 grocery gift card. More details are available at the library.

Visit the Longville Library this winter.  If you haven’t had a chance to stop in to see the new library addition and furnishings, this would be a great time to stop in and register for Snow Time To Read, browse the library to get reacquainted with the layout and enjoy the new space and locally crafted bookshelves, private study desks, circulation desk, program/meeting/study room and the newly expanded Friends of the Library booksale room. The daily Star and Tribune is available as well as the local papers or browse through our magazine collection of close to 20 titles that are also available for check out. If you’re looking for DVD’s, the library has lots to choose from including new releases and TV series. The library can order in most of the titles that patrons are looking for in multiple formats. There is a generous check out period of close to a month for most books, one week for DVD’s and two weeks for audiobooks. Items that are not on reserve may be renewed easily online or by phoning the library. The library also offers WIFI hotspots.  All of this is available to patrons with a library card. If it’s a computer you need, the library has public terminals as well as black and white and color printing. Patrons may use their library card for computer use or the staff may issue a free guess pass to those without a card.
