Remer man charged with criminal sexual conduct
According to charges filed in Cass County District Court on Friday, February 7, 2025, a 40-year-old Remer man and former school bus driver faces two counts of first degree felony criminal sexual conduct after he allegedly sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl who babysat his children. The girl reported the alleged assault to her Principal in late January, according to the criminal complaint, she said he sexually assaulted her while she was babysitting at his home last fall. She also rode his bus. In a comment posted on the Northland Community Schools - Office of the Superintendent of Schools website on February 10, “A former bus driver at Northland Community Schools has been charged with criminal sexual conduct crimes involving a minor. The charges have been filed in Cass County, Minnesota. The alleged criminal conduct did not take place on school grounds or on any school property. Rather, the conduct allegedly occurred at the bus driver’s home, where the minor babysat for the driver’s family.”
According to public court documents, Police interviewed the man on Wednesday, February 5. He admitted he spent time alone with the girl, but denied assaulting her. The man was arrested after speaking to police but has since posted bond. His next hearing is scheduled for Feb. 24.
