Storm go 2-2 over the past two weeks
The Storm advanced to 10-8 for the season with a 70-32 win over Laporte Mon., Jan. 27, in Remer. Senior Bella Dunham topped the scoring with 19 points for the evening. Dunham also had six steals, three rebounds and four assists.
Other top scorers were Nora Wake with 14; Maddy Barnes with 10 and Charity Berg also with 10. Wake also ended the night with three steals four rebounds and one assist. While Barnes came down with eight rebounds and had one assist. Berg had a total of five steals, three rebounds and one assist against the Wildcats. Senior Liz Johnson ended the evening with only two points, but had a total of eight rebounds along with one assist for the evening.
After a short break the Storm traveled to North Woods Fri., Jan. 31 and walked away with a 73-36 win. Top double digit scorers for the evening were Wake with 20 and Casey Jones with 11. Wake also ended the evening with six steals, seven rebounds and four assists, while Jones had three steals, two rebounds and three assists.
Other contributors for the evening were Barnes with nine points, two steals, seven rebounds and one assist and Jasmine Kingsley with seven points, one steal and nine rebounds.
The girls then headed to Aitkin, Mon., Feb. 3 walking away with a 42-69 loss to the Gobblers. Top scorers for the Storm were Dunham and Imani Richey both with eight, while Berg and Wake each put up seven. Other stats for the evening saw Dunham with fours assists, Wake with four steals and Barnes coming down with seven rebounds.
The next night saw the Storm in Floodwood which ended in a 42-69 loss. Berg ended the night with seventeen points on the scoreboard, while Dunham and Wake both put up eight. Senior Abby Zapzalka contributed five points and was the only Storm player to shoot from the free throw line. Other stats were Barnes with eight rebounds, one assist and one steal; Berb with four steals, three rebounds and two assis and Zapzalka with two steals, one rebound and one assist.
The Storm hosted the Sebeka Trojans Fri., Feb. 7 in Hill City and then traveled to Ogilvie Mon., Feb. 10. The final three games of the season will see the girls hosting Hinckley-Finlayson in Hill City on Tues., Feb. 11 and traveling to Mille Lacs Thurs., Feb. 13 and Northome/Kelliher on Tues., Feb. 18.
