   Cass County Economic Development Corporation (Cass County EDC) has attracted $96,000 in DEED Mainstreet Grant funds for eligible commercial projects located within the boundaries of Walker’s and Cass Lake’s main street areas. These grants will allow area businesses to revitalize and improve local buildings while contributing to the tax base of the city.

   A maximum of three projects will be awarded funds, but the selection committee may select fewer than three projects. In order to received a grant your project must fall within one of the following criteria and have a match of 30% of your investment in grant funding. 

   • Project 1: $40,000 (minimum $133,000 investment)

   • Project 2: $30,000 (minimum $100,000 investment)

   • Project 3: $26,000 (minimum $88,000 investment)

   To be eligible for funding businesses projects must focus on building improvements and tax base growth. Equipment costs are not eligible and all selected projects must be completed by May 2026. Work that has already been completed prior to review of grant applications does not apply for this grant.

   All applications must be submitted by the end of the day May 30 to be eligible and will be reviewed to ensure projects meet DEED’s location and eligibility criteria. Applications not submitted via email to [email protected] by the end of the day on May 30 will not be accepted and will not be reviewed by the local committee.
