The Arbor Day celebration in Hackensack is shaping up to be an exciting and educational two-day event at Rendezvous Brewing, blending environmental awareness with community engagement. Here’s a detailed look at what you can expect:
Friday, April 25, 2-8 pm:
• Forest to Tap Program: In collaboration with Dovetail Partners, Rendezvous Brewing will give away a free tree with every purchase. This program highlights the crucial relationship between forest management, clean water, and great beer production. It’s a fun and meaningful way to celebrate Arbor Day while supporting the environment.
Saturday, April 26, 3-7 pm:
• Fundraiser for Trees in Hackensack: Charley Wagner has organized a special fundraiser to support tree planting along Highway 371 and other areas impacted by the road construction. 20% of sales during the event will go directly to this important cause.
• Speakers and Presentations:
1. Diana Grundeen: A session on selecting and planting trees suited for a resilient northern ecosystem, with advice on adapting to environmental changes.
2. Charley Wagner: A certified arborist who will talk about chainsaw safety, maintenance, and proper handling techniques, highlighting the importance of personal protective equipment and sharpening skills.
