   The Hackensack Lions Club has established scholarships for college and vocational education. The purpose of the scholarships is to assist students in pursuit of their academic or vocational advancement. The scholarship funds are to be used for tuition and related fees.

   The Hackensack Lions will award up to six $1,500 scholarships per year to graduating students from local high schools or those graduating from a certified home school program. Three scholarships will be awarded to students continuing their education in traditional college/university programs and three for students continuing their education in vocational and technical schools.

   The applicants must be residents of the greater Hackensack area, as determined by the Lions Scholarship Committee. The awarding of a scholarship is based on their applications, high school transcript and letters of recommendation. Consideration is given for educational goals, involvement in volunteering and service to others, achievements, employment history, personal goals, and consideration of the need for financial assistance.
