  Faye Ann (Wilkening) Hedtke, 81, of Hackensack, MN, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025. She was a deeply-beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Faye was born in Minneapolis, in 1944. Throughout childhood, her family moved often. She loved to share memories of the characters from those travels. Faye married the love of her life, Joel Hedtke, in 1963. They proudly raised their two sons, Todd and Trent, in Chanhassen, MN. Faye worked most of her career for School District 112, as an elementary school secretary, retiring to Hackensack, MN in 2000. She entertained family and friends at her cabin on Birch Lake. She loved to see, hear, and photograph loons and cardinals. She enjoyed the lake, gardening, singing, coloring, cryptoquizzes, puzzles, and playing Yahtzee and card games. Faye was a member of the American Legion Post 202 Auxiliary and Emmanuel Lutheran Church.

   Faye was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joel Hedtke; fiancé, Jim Greenwood; and grandson, Tyler Hedtke. She is survived by her siblings, Leonard Wilkening, Joyce Baroni, and Linda Hampa of Colorado; sons, Todd (Denise) Hedtke, Chaska, MN and Trent (Jenny) Hedtke, St. Bonifacius, MN; grandchildren, Jolene Hedtke (Michael Lane), Chaska, MN, Benjamin (Austin) Hedtke, Mankato, MN, and Samantha Hedtke, St. Bonifacius, MN; and great-grandson, Harrison Lane.

   Please join the family to celebrate our matriarch’s, full, long life at an open house memorial luncheon: Hackensack American Legion Post 202, Saturday, April 12th, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
