Birding program at the Longville Library

Aaah, the sound of birds singing their beautiful melodies and warmer days on the way; things are starting to feel like spring with the return of our favorite songbirds. If you enjoy listening to birds, watching them, or feeding them, you will want to visit the library for this informative bird program.

Deep Portage Learning Center and the Margaret Welch Memorial Library in Longville are teaming up to present an informative birding program just in time for spring! Please join us as a staff member from Deep Portage speaks about birding in Minnesota (specifically in Cass County) and more! This program will focus on parts of birds, bird identification, common birds that can be spotted around this area and will even include a fun vocalization quiz. This program is free to the community and will take place at the Margaret Welch Memorial Library in Longville on Tuesday, April 22 from 11:00 a.m. to noon in the new program room. Bird lovers of all ages are welcome to join us. You may want to take a little extra time to browse the library’s nice collection of birding books available for check out.

If you haven’t yet signed up for a library card, and are a resident or property owner in this area, all that is needed is a driver’s license or proof of property ownership and it just takes a few minutes to establish an account and issue a new library card that can be used the same day. Please call or stop by the library for more information (218)363-2710.
