   100 Women Who Care of the Leech Lake Area continue to meet semi-annually to raise money in one hour on one evening for a local non-profit 501 (c3) that is nominated and voted on by those present and who have made a monetary donation. (The suggested donation is $100.00).

   May 5, 2025 will be the sixth event held by our local 100 Women, who to date have raised nearly $80,000 in the five events already held since December 2022. 

   Recipients in the past have included the ARCC Women’s Shelter, the Walker Area Food Shelf, Friends of the Walker Library, The Door and the Arvig Walker Area Community Center. 

   A random drawing of three is made of all the nominations submitted by those in attendance, and then those three selected nonprofits are given a few minutes to tell the ladies about their mission and how they work within the community before a vote is made by those in attendance.  The winner is announced that evening—-all this happens within only one hour!! 

   There will be appetizers and a cash bar offered at this event which falls on Cinco De Mayo. Hope to see you there!! All women are welcome!!
