Mrs. O.D. Woodford went to the Sanitorium last week where she was employed.
Mrs. Irish returned to Federal Dam after working at the Eagan home in Remer for several months.

Sept. 23, 1949
Mr. and Mrs. Shake Ford, owners of the Woman Lake Tavern, are changing their dance schedule to Saturday night with music by Mary K and her musical escorts from Backus.
Mrs. Alvin Olson is operating the switchboard in Boy River while Mrs. Whitted is away.
Mr. Lee Garner resigned Wednesday as janitor of the Longville school, a position he had held for the past 7 years.

Sept. 26, 1974
Mr. and Mrs. David Sargent and daughter Teresa moved to the Dale Johnson home. He is working at the Remer OK Hardware.
Faye Sjoblom was recently married to Jack Jordan. He works for the PCA, and they will make their home in New Brighton.
There was a good crowd at the dance for Mick and Vi Putnam with the music by Frank Slagle and his band.

The Remer Area Chamber of Commerce elected Brian Nicklason president of the association for 1999-2000 on September 22nd at Deer Haven Supper Club.
Gladys Drouillard was born September 18, 1927 to Louis Munnell and Anna White in Onigum. She attended Flandreau Indian School and the U of MN. She was District 2 Representative until retirement. She died September 21st.
Mahlon Swentkofske, 92, died September 21st. He was a 1925 graduate of Remer High School. He owned the Royal Chevrolet Garage from 1953-1974. He also served as county commissioner from 1963 to 1984.
