Donald “Don” G. Gervais, Jr., 68, passed away peacefully at his home in Arizona on Monday, October 21, 2024.
Born in Minneapolis to Don and Emily (Plumb) Gervais, Don’s family later moved to Longville, where he attended school and graduated from Northland High School in Remer. He worked as a self-employed welder and fabricator for 40 years and was a devoted member of Living Epistles Ministry, where his faith flourished.
Don was a loving husband to Mary, whom he married on February 14, 1994. A devoted family man, he cherished time spent with his loved ones. He had a deep passion for music, excelling in singing, guitar, and harmonica. In his younger years, he played in various bands and continued to share his love for music in jam sessions as he grew older. He also enjoyed camping and spending time with friends.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; children: Salome Meyers (Josh), Jessica Gervais, Trish Greski, Kim Greski (Mike), Robin Monsos (Erik), Kevin Greski, and Rick Monroe; siblings Charlene Gervais (Steve) and Dianne Otto (James); 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, along with many friends and extended family.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Emily Gervais, and daughters Sandra Aldrich and Rachelle Gervais.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends, especially for the love and pride he showed as “Papa” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Though our lives continue without him, nothing feels the same. With love in our hearts, he will walk with us forever.
A private graveside memorial service and burial will take place at Rice River Cemetery in McGregor on Friday, November 8, at 1:00 PM. The family invites you to join us at the Rice River Community Center immediately after for a light lunch. To leave a message of condolence please go to www.srtfuneral.com.
