   Janice M. Campbell, age 80, of Boy River, MN passed peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, October 17th, 2024. She was born on March 23, 1944 in Grand Rapids, MN to Chester and Goldie (Peterson) Cleveland of Boy River, MN.  

   Janice attended school in Boy River and Remer. Janice married Herb Papenfus in September of 1969. They had 3 children together. They were divorced in 1988. In 1990, Janice was married to Glenn Campbell in Boy River. Janice moved to Americare Lodges in Remer in July of 2016. At Americare, she was loved and well taken care of by the staff there. Janice was a very loved lady and she was always a very happy soul. She gave all who knew her and loved her a lot of great memories and many, many stories of her life to share. She was sassy and witty and loved to laugh and show her infectious smile. She leaves a big hole in the lives of those who knew and loved her.

   Janice loved to spend time with her kids and grandkids and enjoyed when anyone would stop in to visit her. She appreciated her wonderful neighbors, Marty and Bev & Bill, who were always willing to help her if she needed it. She was happy when she could work in her yard, mowing and planting flowers. One of her favorite past times was to sit at the kitchen window and keep tabs on what was happening in her little small town and feeding and watching the birds. She also loved going to church and helping with VBS.

   Janice is survived by her children: Phyllis Wake and husband Corey of Emily, MN and Anthony (Tony) Papenfus currently working in Africa, and Duane Papenfus and wife Lisa of Broadway, North Carolina; Two siblings, Jeanne Bader of Federal Dam and David (Porky) Cleveland from Remer; Grandchildren: Dalton, Jessica, Easton, Lillian, Leland, Kaylynn, Hunter, Hailey, Amanda, Kyrstine, Lillian, Brooke, Justine and Christian; Great grandchildren: Aria, Terah, Maverick, Scarlett, Estelle, Emma and McCoy; and many nieces and nephews.

   Janice is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; Her parents, Chet and Goldie Cleveland; and one brother, Chet (Son) Cleveland.

   A Memorial Service will be held for Janice at the Boy River Log Chapel Community Center in Boy River on Saturday, October 26th, 2024 at 2 PM.
