Lyle Leslie VanBlaricom

  Lyle Leslie VanBlaricom of Berryville, Arkansas was born in Backus, Minnesota on April 16, 1940, to Lewis and Martha (Rice) VanBlaricom. Lyle passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loved ones, at the age of 84.

   Lyle was a member of the American Legion post 0368 for 37 years and proudly served in the navy as a radioman from 1957 to 1963. He was a champion horseshoe pitcher and hosted competitions in Minnesota. In 1983 he founded his company Professional Plating which he successfully ran for many years before retiring in 1998.

   On August 28, 1970, Lyle married Vera Showalter, who survives him of the home. He is also survived by his daughter Susan Mills of Vista, CA, son David VanBlaricom and wife Carol of Baxter, MN, daughter Debra VanBlaricom of Berryville, AR, and son Michael VanBlaricom and wife Michelle of Rogers, AR, sister Mary Ann Huston-Ostenso of Backus, MN, cousin Gloria Papillon of Jenkins MN, grandchildren Natalie Greko, Timothy VanBlaricom, Alex Mills, Kayla Cerrone, Matthew VanBlaricom, Daphne VanBlaricom, and Ava VanBlaricom, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

   He is preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Martha VanBlaricom, brother Charles “Buzz” VanBlaricom, sister Noel Holden, aunt Cecila Neuman, and uncle Ray Neuman.
