CRMC to offer free women’s wellness screenings

CROSBY, Minn. - Cancer doesn’t wait. Early detection saves lives. Cuyuna Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is offering free breast and cervical cancer screenings at its Crosby Clinic on Wednesday, November 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. The screenings are specifically designed for uninsured and under-insured women aged 40 and above who meet the income guidelines.

Cuyuna Regional Medical Center recognizes the importance of early detection and intervention in combating breast and cervical cancers. The initiative, in partnership with SAGE, the Minnesota Department of Health’s cervical and breast cancer screening program underscores our commitment to ensuring access to essential healthcare services for all members of our community. CRMC physicians Atlantis Russ, MD, PhD, and Monica Goodwin, MD, will be providing the exams.

All women are at risk for breast and cervical cancer, but regular screenings can prevent these diseases or find them early. New guidelines state women who are at average risk for breast cancer should start mammogram screening at age 40 and get one every two years until age 74. It’s recommended women get their first Pap test at age 21.

To schedule your free exam, call 218-546-7000. Light refreshments will be served at the event and each attendee will receive a complimentary swag bag.
