Nov. 13, 1924
S.H. Barsness and Christ Kragtorp erected the shell for our cabins for Bert Fuller on Long Lake.
Peter Zumbrunnen has rented his herd of milk cows to his sons, Carl and Herman, for the winter.
Dr. Wilcox of Walker vaccinated over 100 persons in Longville with the smallpox vaccine last Friday.

Nov. 11, 1949
Harold and Gertrude Davidson purchased Verndale Resort in Longville from Vern Lyons. She is Gertrude Claver and a well-known pianist.
Mrs. Duard Simpson and Mrs. C. St. John drove to Longville to attend the Halloween school carnival at the Longville school.
Tom and Daisy came to Minnesota in 1916 in a covered wagon pulled by mules. They bought 80 acres north of Pine River. He worked in the woods, and she drove a school bus.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim LeBlance of Hackensack are now operating the Backus Junction Coffee Shop.
Arthur M. Dewey passed away on November 10th at age 57. He was born at Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada and married Alta Beard. He had lived at Walker since the early 1900s.
Wilbur Slels and friends from Illinois came to spend a week at Fritze’s Brite Vue Resort on Pleasant Lake and do some deer hunting.

A community thanksgiving dinner will be held Nov. 21 at the Northland Alliance Church of Remer. The free dinner is available to everyone.
The Longville skating rink was installed Saturday with help from Bill Garbe and Craig Anderson among the many volunteers to assist with the work.
Neil and Violet McCready who had a home just east of the ballfield at the airport since 1950 traded his property for 3 lots on Long Lake to make way for airport construction.
