Diocese of Superior provides $15,000 match to Second Harvest Northland
Duluth, MN– For the fourth consecutive year, Catholic Charities Bureau, Diocese of Superior, will be matching all gifts received by Second Harvest Northland as part of their Minnesota’s Day of Giving (also known as Give to the Max Day) campaign, up to $15,000. Catholic Charities has partnered with Second Harvest on Minnesota’s Day of Giving since 2021 and leveraged 225,000 meals as part of their matching support.
“We believe it’s essential to support community members who need reliable access to nutritious food,” said Alan Rock, Executive Director of Catholic Charities Bureau, Diocese of Superior. “By partnering with Second Harvest Northland, we can help others maximize their impact and bring even more meals to our neighbors and help continue to Improve the Human Condition.”
From now, through midnight, November 21, 2024, all gifts received by Second Harvest Northland, as part of Minnesota’s Day of Giving will be eligible for the match ensuring more meals for the agency and community partners and neighbors supported in NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin.
For over 16 years, Minnesota’s Day of Giving has allowed nonprofit organizations to raise funds to strengthen their local communities.

This support will allow us to leverage even more meals to support families, children, and seniors throughout our holiday season and into the year ahead.”

About Second Harvest Northland: Second Harvest Northland is the region’s only “food bank,” accessing nationally and regionally donated and purchased product for 113 agency and community partners (food shelves, on-site meal programs, and tribal organizations), 268 programs, and approximately 70,000 food-insecure children, seniors and adults throughout 15 counties in NE Minnesota (St. Louis, Carlton, Lake, Cook, Aitkin, Cass, Crow Wing, Itasca, Koochiching, Kanabec, and Mille Lacs counties St. Louis, Carlton, Lake and Cook counties) and NW Wisconsin (Douglas, Bayfield, Ashland and Iron counties).
