Nov. 6, 1924
C.A. Walker of Boy River purchased stumpage on Section 3 of Wabedo Township from the Santee Bros. and will put in a camp this winter.
A small crew of men at Longville treated and put in all the posts for the cemetery fence.
Miss Margaret Culhane left for Minneapolis where she has employment for the winter.

Nov. 4, 1949
The eldest daughter of Robert Beals was kicked by a horse and her collar bone was broken.
A large crowd attended the bridal shower on Mrs. Pospischel at Fairbanks Café at Federal Dam.
Mr. and Mrs. Foss have moved into their new home which they purchased from Mr. and Mrs. Art Thompson at Longville.

Andy Shepard from Longville spent Sunday with his grandparents at Tracy Shepards.
Mike Lentz of Iowa is up at the Lentz cabin on Trelipe Lake doing some building.
John Selix and sons spent the weekend at Edwin Sawyers hunting. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Flox from Bemidji and Jr. Lyn spent the weekend at the Sawyers.

The Northland/Deer River Girls Cross Country Team brought in the first state championship to either of the two schools. Sara Huotari led the team.
The Remer Yard and Garden Club elected Nancy Gustafson as president; Judy Blaschko, vice-president; Gerry Gustafson, secretary; Gwenn Padgett, treasurer; Robin Madden, Sunshine chairman.
