100 Years Ago

May 8, 1924

   Irene Snell went to Longville where she will attend high school for the rest of the term.

   Harry Zaske and Ellen Blair were married at Walker Saturday.

   A baby girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Mix on April 27th.

75 Years Ago

May 5, 1949

   Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Bird and children of Remer visited at Wahnena at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Bird.

   Louis Springer, 73, was found dead on April 30th in his cabin on Wabedo by a group of children who had gone to visit.

   Hackensack will have a locker plant according to Doad Schroeder and will be operating by June 1st.

50 Years Ago

May 9, 1974

   The world’s first Bald Eagle “egg plant” with eggs taken from Chippewa National Forest nests will be planted in eagle nests in Maine.

   Thomas Gustafson, a senior at Northland High, has been awarded a $300 Cum Laude Freshmen Scholarship at Moorhead State College next year.

   Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hendricks on the birth of Stephanie Ann who was born April 17th.

May 11, 1999 

   Mr. and Mrs. George Boe announce the engagement of their son, Ron Boe to Heather Lossing. A May 29th wedding is planned.

   Pearl Williams was born to John and Catherine Tabaka at Maple Grove on Oct. 23, 1906. She married Frank Williams. She died in Florida on May 2nd.

   Barb Moran receives Women of Excellence award by the Girl Scouts Land of Lakes Council at an awards banquet at the BSU campus.
