Storm Softball



The Hill City/Northland Storm softball team traveled to St. Cloud State and opened their season with two games in the Huskie Dome Friday, March 22. The girls won the first game in 3.5 innings against Floodwood 28 - 7 with Senior pitcher Shaley Pearson allowing one run in the first two innings. Pearson had 3K’s with one run scored on an error. Sophmore Jasmine Kinsley pitched one inning, giving up six runs, and Junior Kaija Neary closing the inning out. The second game was a conference matchup vs. Chisholm with the Storm walking away with the win 5 - 1 in 6.5 innings. Neary pitched six innings with 10K’s and one run scored in the sixth inning. Pearson closed out the game in the top of the seventh. Runs were scored by Pearson (3), Neary (1) and a slide just under the tag for an in park home run by Belle Dunham.   Photo submitted.
