Cherrilynne Loveda (Louis) Bader, age 78, best known as “Cherri”, passed away Friday, January 12th, 2024, at Edgewood May Creek Memory Care in Walker, MN.

Cherri was born in Grand Rapids, MN on July 10th, 1945 to Stella Cockman and Floyd Louis. She grew up in Remer, MN, and graduated from Remer High School in 1963. Cherri was united in marriage to Leroy Bader, on May 8th, 1965. Together they raised two children and built a life they enjoyed in Boy River, MN. Cherri worked various jobs throughout her life, including raising mink and beef cattle on their family farm, waitressing at a local cafe, and working as an Early Childhood paraprofessional within the Longville/Remer School District. She was a member at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Federal Dam, MN, where she spent her time volunteering with Vacation Bible School, Ladies Aid, and played various roles on the church’s council.

Cherri enjoyed collecting stamps, playing card games, working on puzzles/word searches, scrapbooking, drinking Pepsi, spending time with her beloved family, and attending her grandchildren’s various sports/school activities. Cherri also loved traveling with Leroy in their fifth wheel down to Texas in the winter and visiting other places in the United States. You could always find Cherri cracking jokes, singing her made-up songs, and letting people know who the real boss was in the room.

Cherri is survived by her husband of 58 years, Leroy Bader; their children, Piper Bader-Lampi (Ron Lampi), Michael (Megan) Bader, and her grandchildren Madison Armstrong, Kenzie Lampi, Kelbee Lampi, Kullen Lampi, Maisie Bader, and great-grandchild Everly Armstrong. Siblings Jerry Nelson, Lois O’Brien, Bart Wulff, Rodney Wulff, Chad Wulff, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stella (Cockman) Nelson and Floyd Louis, and grandson Marshall Bader.
