G.F. and G.B. Case of Pine Lake worked out at Cyphers the past week for H.V. Norton.
Miss Grace Struss is employed at the Rex hotel in Federal Dam at the present time.

Mr. and Mrs. Gene Simpson and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sullivan from Iowa are here. The Simpson Brothers have purchased Sullivan’s Arrowhead Lodge on Boy Lake.
Lavon Sumption, Sophomore at U of MN spent the weekend with his parents. He was awarded a $200 scholarship from Sears Roebuck.
Floyd and Fred Borchert, Hugo Lonson, and Monte McKeig attended a show in Cass Lake Sunday night.

March 28, 1974
Ida Tabaka went to Brainerd last Monday to meet her daughter Kathe who came home for the quarter break from St. Cloud State.
Despite wind chill temperatures of 45 below, Federal Dam men turned out for a cutting bee to help out the Monte McKeig family. Mulligan stew was served by the Federal Dam Café. The McKeig home burned Dec 27.
George Young of Hackensack went to St. Cloud on Wednesday where he has employment with a highway construction company.

Elizabeth Ruth (Clark) Showalter born Sept. 25, 1903 at Blackduck and formerly of Longville, died March 19th.
June Elaine Aiken, 68, was born March 28, 1929 to Lloyd and Tilly Showalter, and lived in Chicago where she raised a family. She moved back to the family homestead in Longville in 1989.
Camp Olson received a $1000 donation from the Lions Club. Joe Edwards is a long-time employee of the camp.
