The Gallery of New Creations has been a staple in Longville for many years. Now the business has changed hands and has a bright future ahead. As of now, the building still holds the Gallery, but come next summer there will be an entire new business called Karma Gallery, Boutique and Wine Bar.

Lisa Thorud began her life in many places on the East Coast. She was convinced to move to Minnesota by her parents and got an office job in the Twin Cities. Her husband Steve’s parents had a small, humble cabin off of Woman Lake. Although it was nothing special, the second Lisa stepped foot in Longville, “I really just fell in love with the place. I knew I had to live here.”

In 2014, Lisa and Steve found their dream home and moved to Woman Lake.
She started by leaving the office on Friday and driving three and a half hours here for the weekend. Then, she came up on Thursdays, stayed until Monday, up until the Covid-19 pandemic. The day that her boss told her that she could work from home, she ran back to Longville.
After spending four years working remotely for the company in The Cities, she was ordered to return to the office. She refused, and within a month, Lori Daudt came to her and asked if she wanted to buy the business. Everything fell into place and her and Steve bought the business.
Lisa plans to close the Gallery in October to conduct a full renovation. She plans to open the floor plan, add a bar offering wine, craft cocktails and charcuterie boards for customers to drink and snack while shopping. Retail will be sold, and local artisans will still be able to display and sell their art. Karma Wine Tasting and Charcuterie plans to open early June of 2025.
