Northwoods Arts Council (NAC) is proud to announce their 29th Art and Book Festival, Saturday, August 10th, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., in Hackensack. Follow the signs to this unique event featuring 65 talented artists and 35 creative authors in an atmosphere of community involvement, great music, food, craft beer, homemade pie and fresh squeezed lemonade.

NAC is committed to inviting artists that create handmade works that are totally the result of their individual creative talents.  Many new artists will be joining us for the first time at this annual artistic day. Art lovers will experience different mediums that will be available for purchase including oils, acrylics, printing, photography, wood fiber, paper, clay, metal, and jewelry. This is the perfect time to do some early gift shopping for Christmas, that special birthday or anniversary, or even hostess gifts.

Pies By Guys return to serve pieces of wonderful pies made by Jennette Dudley and will be offered with or without ice cream.  Hurry to claim your piece of heaven before they sell out!

In addition to the Kid’s Tent activities, the Hackensack Lions Club has created a Lion Safari in which children will be given a pith helmet and binoculars to help them in their safari journey around the event. After following the clues, you should be able to locate the lion and return to the Hackensack Lions Club tent to claim a prize. WonderTrek Children’s Museum is returning with their outdoor venue that offers interactive play materials for children ages 4-10.

There will be shaded seating throughout the festival for seniors, or those with disabilities, to navigate easily at this event. Additional shaded seating will be available under the “Big Top” tent near the food trucks.

This artistic festival could not take place without the ongoing financial support of Five Wings Arts Council and the Clean Water Land and Legacy Amendment, Sourcewell and the Hackensack Lions Club.

Mark your calendar so you don’t miss this wonderful day in Hackensack. See you August 10th!
