Grand Prize Winner

   The temperature was perfect, and the small storm overnight had the fish ready to bite.  So many fish were caught and quite of few were over 10 oz, with the biggest just under a pound. That is great from our dock in Hackensack. The V family swept through the awarded prizes with each person in the family grabbing a spot. Some of the regulars just can’t be out fished, with some of them taking a 4th or 5th award home this season.

Kids fishing contest ages 0-5

At the Hackensack Kid’s Fishing Contest Tuesday, July 23, 32 kids in the 0-5 year old group, caught and released 69 fish. Liam J. caught the largest fish (15.6 oz.); Raymond P. reeled in the first fish; Walker S. landed the most fish (12); and Will K. hooked the smallest fish (3 3/4 inches).

   Can your child out fish these young greats? Come and find out, only 3 weeks left.

Kids fishing contest ages 6-9

At the July 23 Hackensack Kid’s Fishing Contest, 28 kids in the 6-9 year old group, caught and released 149 fish. Oliver V. caught the largest fish (12.1 oz.); Storm W. reeled in the first fish; Rick R. landed the most fish (40); and the smallest fish was hooked by Soma V. (3 5/8 inches) .

   The hot dog sponsor this week was St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Hackensack (www.stpaulselcahackensack.org). They bring a fantastic army of volunteers and really make our week easier with their extra assistance.

Kids fishing contest ages 10-15

In the 10-15 year old group, Tuesday, July 23, 31 kids caught and released 166 fish. Weston V. hooked the largest fish (13.9 oz.); the first fish was caught by Bentley V.; Valarie L. caught the most fish (42) and the smallest fish (2 5/8 inches) was landed by Geena L.

   The dates for this year are every Tuesday, June 11th – August 13th, 2024 from 11am - 12:30pm. Be early to register before it starts. We look forward to seeing everyone that can make it.

Minnow Racing Winner
