On Friday, July 5, the Seventh Annual Longville Independence Day Volleyball Tournament was held at Stuart Park with a record 14 teams participating. The final match was the most exiting ever with LappGodwod defeating the Wabedo Warriors 15-13, 15-17, 15-11. Team LappGodWod (top) consisted of Jamie Chambeus and Kailey Wente from Princeton, MN; Cliff Lapp from Green Bay, WI and Nick Godwod from Albuquerque, NM. Interestingly, the team formed the morning of the tournament when they players were looking for teammates. The Wabedo Warriors (middle) were all from Andover, MN and consisted of Finn and Riley Dillinger and Jack and Josh Peroz. The backdraw champions were Sandy Cracks (bottom), also from Andover, and comprised of Mark, Donna, Devyn and Jazmyn Maslosk. Photo submitted.
