The Longville Lakes Arts Alliance (LLAA) has been providing arts events and classes since its founding in 2008. Recently with the sale of the building that formerly held Lori’s Luvs, LLAA has moved across the street into that space and greatly expanded their offerings to the community. With the move a name change has followed, LLAA is now the Longville Lakes Arts Center to reflect the added events, classes and gatherings the new site now offers year-round.
New this year is Coffee, Arts and Crafts gatherings Tuesdays at 10 a.m. beginning February 6. This weekly event will allow anyone to bring in their own project or participate in one being offered - materials will be provided and each week will offer a new project for you. Also new is studio space available to artists (daily and weekly) as well as gathering space for groups such as writers, book groups, needle craft groups, music groups and more. Beginning this spring, the Arts Center will be open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. offering art works for sale and every six weeks introducing an artist with a show and reception. Used But Useful Art Materials Store will continue the work of recycling art materials.
The Center’s motto is “Making Longville a vibrant arts destination and a comfortable Up North home for everyone who enjoys making art, buying art and gathering to enjoy being creative.” Follow their offerings in the pages of the Press-Citizen and on Facebook at Longville Lakes Arts Center.
