   In this season of peace, joy and giving, gathering with friends and family is an important tradition.  Although spread across Cass County, the Faith in Action family of volunteers is no exception.  On Thursday, December 5th over 30 Faith in Action volunteers and staff, from Pine River to Walker and Remer, and all places in between, met at the Faith in Action Office in Hackensack for a soup and sandwich luncheon, and to visit and share holiday stories.  Volunteers told of plans for Christmas and stories of recent volunteer experiences and the rewards of helping others. Volunteer Coordinator Larellyn Micheau planned a few games that sent everyone home with a small gift. “Christmas brings out the caring and giving nature in each of us,” stated Executive Director Theresa Eclov. “That is what makes Faith in Action volunteers such an important part of our communities.”

   If you would like to share your caring and giving nature with others, or see how volunteers can make a difference, consider becoming a volunteer with Faith in Action this winter. Volunteers are urgently needed throughout Cass County to help folks with neighborly assistance, including friendly visits and meal delivery, transportation to appointments and help with grocery shopping, home repair and light housekeeping.

   Volunteers choose how and when they would like to volunteer – schedules are flexible. Consider contacting Faith in Action to see if there is a volunteer position that would match your gifts, talents and time.  Volunteer training is scheduled right after the holidays. Liability insurance and mileage reimbursement is provided to registered volunteers.
