The Boy River bridge is now open for traffic and the Island school bus has resumed its regular route.
Fritz Leeper trapped a 60-pound beaver last week, but the record was topped by Freddie Wheeler who got one weighing 65 pounds.
Dolores Georgia and Robert Andrews were married December 3rd at Bethany Lutheran Church in Remer.

Dec. 19, 1974
Denise Dickson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Dickson of Boy River, married Larry Daigle on October 18th. They are at home in Deer River.
The first part of this week, temperatures were up to 40 degrees. Then we got our first big snow of eight inches.
Navy Machinist Mate Third Cass Steven Hoopman graduated form Basic Air Conditioning and Refrigeration School at the Naval Training Center in San Diego, CA.

Deanna Shoup, 62 of Remer died December 12th. She married Raymond Shoup while they were both serving in the Army. She moved to Remer in 1995.
Heidi Mouw received an associate in arts degree in business management from Central Lakes College in Brainerd.
Eighty-eight children from Hackensack visited Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Hackensack Community building. He came for the 2nd year on a hay wagon instead of a sleigh due to the absence of snow.
