Hwy. 200 crash injures five
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on the evening of Nov. 30 a two vehicle accident occurred on Highway 200 west of Remer near milepost 148 resulting in non-life-threatening injuries to five individuals.
The accident occurred when a westbound 2017 Toyota Avalon, driven by Nathanial John Berg, 41, of Menahga crossed the center line. The vehicle collided with the front driver side of an eastbound 2014 Ford F150 driven by Steven Dale Hutchings, 55, of Chisholm.
Berg sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Deer River for medical care. The Ford F150’s driver, Steven Hutchings, 55, and passenger, Kerry Ann Hutchings, 51, suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at Grand Rapids. Two other passengers in the F150, Olivia Hutchings, 19 and Erica Ann Hutchings, 22, also received non-life-threatening injuries and did not require medical attention.
Emergency responders, including Remer Ambulance, Cass County authorities and Longville Fire Department responded to the accident.
Both vehicles airbags were deployed, and all occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Authorities confirmed that alcohol was not a factor and road conditions were reported as dry.
