Jim Angel will open his barbershop in Remer in the Stan Clark building. The family has purchased the Hendricks house.
The Hackensack Rest Home, owned and operated by Mrs. Augie Lind, is ready for business and is located in the former Button residence.
Harvey Halvorson of Pequot Lakes has been moving their household goods into their new home north of Wickham’s.

May 2, 1974
Sue Lynn Thomas and Daniel Eugene Koons were married April 20th at the Longville Community Church.
Permanent signs will be placed along roads entering the Leech Lake Reservation that alert sportsmen of a special license required for hunting, fishing, trapping and ricing.
Harry Downs was foreman for years of the Northern Minnesota Publishing Company in Hackensack. He married Mayme Wynn of Backus and died at the age of 68.

Volunteer Linda Leverty was recognized for her activities with the Food Shelf, Food Share, and Toys for Tots.
Volunteer Marijean Condon was recognized for service for 12 weeks a year to the Community Church’s food shelf and helping with Headstart during meal times.
Volunteer Daisy Manders was recognized for her work on the Food Shelf/Crops committee and the Bible Chapel’s rotation for 12 weeks a year.
