Owen J. Higgins, 92 of Longville, MN passed away peacefully at his home on March 8, 2024, with his beloved wife of 72 years, Eileen, by his side. Owen was born on July 25, 1931, in Lakeville, MN to Owen and Louise (Weisbrich) Higgins.  He grew up and attended high school in Lakeville.  After graduating from high school, Owen joined the United States Air Force. 

In 1951 Owen married his high school sweetheart, and they spent the next 72 years together. Owen worked for the Ford Motor company in St Paul for 31 years until his retirement in 1984, that is when they to Longville, MN.   Owen in his retirement realized that he enjoyed working on small engines and started to do that for something to keep him busy, when not working on engines he really enjoyed shooting the breeze with people.  Owen liked to hunt and fish when he had time.  Family was very important to him, and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and great-grandsons. Those he leaves behind to cherish is memory are his wife, Eileen; sons, Jerome (Barbara) Higgins and John Higgins; daughter, Patricia (Leonard) Haller; grandchildren, Bobbie Jean Higgins (Steven), Donovan Higgins (Nichole); great-grandsons; Kieran and Owen J. Higgins. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. with a one-hour visitation prior to the service, all to be held at Salem Lutheran Church in Longville, MN.  Pastor Trish Jorgenson will officiate.  Luncheon to follow the service.
