Daniel Kenneth Strohmayer, 63, of Longville, MN passed away on September 21, 2023, after his long battle with cancer.
Dan was born on November 11, 1959, in St Paul, MN to James and Diane. He grew up in Circle Pines, MN, where he attended Centennial High School. He further pursued his schooling at Dunwoody Technical College, where he started his career in HVAC. He would later go on to open his own business, Safe Harbor Heating & Cooling in Longville, MN. Prior to this, he had long careers with Riccar Heating & Air, EAC, and Thermax Corp.
He married Deborah Edwards on June 26, 1982 at St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Oak Grove, MN. Dan and Deb would start their home in St. Francis, MN, where they raised their daughters, April and Dannielle. He later moved his family to Isanti, MN, where Dan was able to fulfill his dream of building a timber frame home with wood that he had milled on his Woodmizer. Dan and Deb then retired to their home on Woman Lake in Longville, MN.
Dan lived for being outdoors, whether it be fishing, hunting or trapping. He loved being able to share his passion with others, especially teaching his kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews – and any other kid that showed interest! He also enjoyed spending time in his vegetable garden, woodworking, tree tapping and mushroom hunting with his family. He loved spending time with family, especially his grandkids. Dan was never without his constant companions “Man’s Best Friend” and throughout his life there were many – “His Ladies” Goldie, Babe, Sadie, Jessie, Bailey, Josie and Lilly.
He will be lovingly remembered by his parents James and Diane; his wife Deborah (Deb) Strohmayer; daughters April (Dustin) Lee and Dannielle (Bill) Strohmayer; grandchildren Cole, Hailey, Evelyn and Eleanor; brother Scott (Robin) Strohmayer; sister Sheila Strohmayer; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his grandparents Mathies and Marie Strohmayer, Sverre Fredheim and Elaine Ellenson-Logue; his sister Vicky Strohmayer; his father and mother-in-law Robert & Harriet Edwards; and many other loved ones.
A celebration of Life will be held at a future date to be determined.
