   Max John Gilbert passed peacefully of natural causes on September 29th, 2023 surrounded by his family.  Max was born August 12, 1933 and had recently celebrated his 90th birthday at Sand Lake in Backus, MN where Max and his wife Sally have created amazing family memories since 1975. 

      Max is preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Bob Jaeger and grandson Joshua Gill.  Max’s memories will be forever kept by his family including wife Sally, sisters Donna Jaeger, Eileen Gilbert, Sharon (Don) Althaus. Children Charlie (Jody) Gilbert, Susan Gill, Cindy (Craig) Peppe, Linda (Dan) Thomas, Danny (Sue) Gilbert.  11 Grandchildren, and 12 Great Grandchildren.
