Bester shines at hometown track and Lieders continues to dominate in Shakopee

   After a few weeks off for the Holiday Season, the Snocross Series returned for Rounds 3 and 4 at the “Daytona of Snocross” at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota. With a nice break from frigid temps and a hometown track for Pro Lite rider, Ryley Bester, the stands were packed (indoors and outdoors) for the two day national.

PRO / PETERSON

   2022 Rookie of the Year; Adam Peterson was ready to get back on the track after the few week break. Peterson started out Round 3 on Friday with good qualifying (fifth and fourth) and was able to make it into the front row of the Pro Round 3 Final. Under the lights Friday night, Peterson pushed hard throughout the 10 minute plus two lap final. With smooth rhythm and finding fast lines, Peterson finished in fifth place, just missing fourth by inches!

   On Saturday, Round 4, Peterson started the day off with awesome qualifying, grabbing a win and second place in his respective qualifying rounds, allowing him to be the second place qualifier for the Pro Round 4 Final. As the sleds lined up for the final, Peterson ripped out of the gates and came out in the top three. As the clock was winding down, Peterson rode well and finished out the weekend in sixth place.

PRO LITE / BESTER

   Pro Lite rider, Ryley Bester was excited to hit his hometown track. In qualifying, Bester took second and first place finishes. Under the lights Friday night, Bester shot out of the gate and was applying heavy pressure for the first place spot and took the lead on lap four. As the laps were winding down, Bester had the challenge of not only navigating through lapped traffic and yellow flags but also had an unfortunate goggle strap incident which hindered his eyesight and breathing. Bester was passed for first but was able to finish in second place.

   On Saturday, Round 4, Bester started the day with a bang, taking another second and first place finishes in his respective qualifying rounds, which allowed him the number one gate pick for the Saturday night final. Under the lights for the Pro Lite Round 4 final Bester ripped a hole shot into first place. Within the first two minutes of the final, Bester looked to be pulling away from the field, but then a mistimed jump threw him from his sled. After regaining his composure Bester, went from 13th place and managed to work his way up and finished out the weekend in ninth place.

PRO AM PLUS 30 / LIEDERS

   PRO AM Plus rider, Andy Lieders, signed up for the Pro Lite and Pro AM Plus 30 class in Shakopee. With no Pro Plus 30 class on Friday, Lieders entered in the Pro Lite class, as he has done various times throughout past seasons. With a second and fourth place finish in both of his qualifying rounds, Lieders had a nice gate pick under the lights for the Pro Lite Round 3 Final. Off of the line Lieders came out mid-pack. As the time counted down and the laps pushed by, Lieders rode strong and finished out in sixth place.

   On Saturday, Lieders was back to his Pro AM Plus 30 class and continued his winning ways, dominating all day. Earning two wins in his qualifying rounds and under the lights Saturday night Lieders was the number one qualifier. In the final, Lieders was able to rip a nice holeshot, rode a strong race and picked up his third straight win of the season.
