January 3, 1924
Mr. and Mrs. George Calvert and son, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Bandemier left Monday to do piece making for the Sjoblom Brothers in the unorganized township NE of Remer.
Frank Gustin arrived at Federal Dam to take his job again after a four-month vacation.
Miss Doris Raboin returned to the Huset School Tuesday after spending the Holidays with her folks at Cass Lake.
75 Years Ago
December 31, 1949
Walt’s Venetian Blind Manufacturing Co. in Hackensack moved to a new location along the Northern Pacific Railroad on the north edge of town.
Jack Renn and James Lucas returned to Remer from the Navy Air Training Center in Tennessee. Both will be based in San Diego following their leave.
The Girls’ Club met for their Christmas party at the Federal Dam school house, opened gifts, and then went caroling around the town.

January 3, 1974
The young folks at Remer are enjoying a new hockey rink during their Christmas vacation.
Walt Bryant of Mule Lake had surgery recently and is at the home of his son Will at Topeka, Kansas.
Ray Kral, Remer Druggist, spent Christmas afternoon in his fish house when a 19 lb. Northern came cruising through the hole. It’s the largest fish taken in the Remer area so far.

January 5, 1999
Charles Casper Neururer died December 15, at the age of 56. Parents Peter and Sara raised him in Federal Dam. A graduate of Boy River High School in 1961, he then attended Dunwoody Institute for 4 years.
Gertrude Caroline Robinson, age 93, died December 27th. She was born to George and Ora Kline in Pine River. She married Joseph in 1925 and made their home at Boy River where she was a postal worker and a telephone operator.
Amy Swanson, daughter of Ed and Marcia Swanson, has been named to the U of MN-Duluth School of Fine Arts Dean’s List for Academic Excellence
