Marven Dale Hausken
Marven Dale Hausken, age 89, of Longville, MN passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji, MN. He was born on the family homestead in Longville, the son of Violet (Whitman) and George Hausken on July 12, 1933.
Marven attended elementary and high school in Longville. After graduation in 1951 he enlisted in the United States Navy and served in the Korean War. While in the Navy he met his first wife, Ruth and with this union a son was born.
After the death of Ruth and his time of service, he returned home and started his lifelong career as a chef. With this career it took him many places and it landed him in Nebraska. While in Nebraska he met the love of his life of 47 years, Virginia. With this union 5 children were born.
After years of cooking in many places in Nebraska his health brought him home in 1993 and he worked seasonally at Camp Olson until completely retiring in 2003.
Those left behind to cherish the memory of Marven are his wife, Virginia of Longville, MN; sons, Dale of Boston, MA, David (Rhonda) of Boone, NE; daughters, Theresa (Kent) Hawthorne of Battle Creek, NE, Michele (Leith) Swanson of Longville, MN, Lillian (Mike) Kornezos of Cass Lake, MN; grandchildren, Daniel Thomas, Kristi Thomas, Jacob (Amanda) Anson, baby on the way, Alexandria (Patrick) Noble, Lily Ann, Charlotte and Hoss Noble, Shane (Ryann) Hawthorne, Anson Hawthorne, Addelynn Hawthorne, Tyler, Steven, and Josh Hausken, Alicia and John Harmon, Irie, James, and Mya Kornezos.
Marven is preceded in death by his parents, Violet and George Hausken; wife, Ruth; son, Steven Joe; and siblings
A memorial service for Marven will be Saturday, September 24, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with the visitation one hour prior to the service., at Longville Bible Chapel in Longville, MN. Pastor Bob Leko will officiate. Urn bearer will be Lillian Hausken. Honorary Urnbearers will be Kent Hawthorne, Mike Kornezos, Leith Swanson, Jacob Anson, Shane Hawthorne, Anson Hawthorne, Tyler Hausken, Steven Hausken, Joshua Hausken, John Harmon, Alicia Harmon, Alexandria Noble, Patrick Noble and Mya Koenezos. Burial will be at Camp Ripley Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, MN at a later date.
