Dennis Dale Johnson sadly passed away peacefully at home in Remer, MN on September 5th, 2022. Dennis was born May 14th, 1935, to Swedish immigrant parents, Gustaf and Anne Johnson, in Minneapolis, Mn. He grew up in Brooklyn Center and went to Patrick Henry High School. He graduated from Dunwoody Institute as a plumber in 1953 and worked in many areas of the Twin Cities. In 1978 as a Master Plumber, he started his own business Johnson Plumbing. In 1991 they moved to their dream home on Big Boy Lake near Boy River MN. Dennis continued his plumbing in Northern MN until he retired in 2001. After retiring Dennis and Marlene sold everything, bought a camper, and travelled the country.
Dennis was an avid hunter and loved to travel with is wife touring the US in their camper. He also had a love for cars, motorcycles and snowmobiling and racing them all. He was also an avid Twins and Vikings fan. Most of all Dennis loved his family and friends. He was always there when you needed him and would go out of his way to make you feel special. He especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nothing would bring him more joy than when they came to visit.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gordon (Red).
He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Marlene. His children Cindy (Rick) Hodgman of Brooklyn Park, MN, Dale (Denise) Johnson of Clara City MN, Duane (Patty) Johnson of Boy River, MN, Cheryl (Rick) Walker of Little Falls, MN, and Carol Johnson (Jon Karner) of Remer, MN. His grandchildren Holly, Nathan, Janelle, Keith, Eric, Kelly, Kyle, Margot, Bobbi Jo, Misty, and Travis and 28 great-grandchildren.
He is deeply loved by family and friends and will be sorely missed. A celebration of life ceremony will be held on his birthday in May.
