Lieders on top, Peterson podiums in Dominator at Lake Geneva

   Grand Geneva Resort and Spa in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin was the home to Rounds 13 and 14 of the 2022 Snocross Series and also was the location for the Amsoil Dominator race. The track at the top of the ski hill at Grand Geneva was one of the biggest tracks the racers and race fans alike have see this season; featuring a huge up hill start, fast down hills, big air and technical rhythm sections. And if the course layout wasn’t challenging enough, a mix of rain and warm weather made for an ever changing track throughout the three-day weekend.

   The weekend kicked off with the Amsoil Dominator. The Dominator race first started as a head-to-head, winner-takes-all shoot-out at the AMSOIL Snocross National in Duluth, Minn. It opened the season with a $10,000 payday and focused primarily on the Pro class. Last season, the Dominator moved to a full-field extravaganza that featured both Pro and Pro Lites, and instead of a bracket racing format, the series now pitted a mix of ten Sport and Pro Lite qualifiers going against ten Pro qualifiers, who would have to start in the back row. With a ten minute plus two lap format, the goal was for the more experience pro’s to make a last second, heroic pass for the 10-k payday. Team LaVallee riders, Kyle Pallin and Dominator 2021 Winner, Adam Peterson lined up Friday night for the Dominator race. Both riders qualified well in seeding and secured a spot in the back row under the lights Friday Night. As the green light went and the clock starting winding down, defending Dominator winner Adam Peterson, was able to secure second place within the first four minutes. Peterson continued to put on a heavy charge but was not able to close the gap on the leader and Peterson ended in second place, taking home a $2000 check. Kyle Pallin rounded out the Dominator race in eighth place.

PRO / PALLIN

   Team LaVallee’s Pro Rider and series Fan Favorite, Kyle Pallin started out with good qualifying earning sixth and fourth place finishes in his respective rounds and was able to secure a spot in the front row of the Round 13 final. Under the lights Saturday night, Pallin started out the final towards the back of the pack, he continued to navigate his way throughout the race and finished out day one of racing in eighth place.

   On Sunday for Round 14, the day started out tough but ended on a high note for Pallin. In round one of qualifying, Pallin was not able to complete the first round due to contact from another rider. Pallin was suffering terrible pain in his leg and after an evaluation from FXR Mobile Medical, they determined Pallin would be ok to ride the remainder of the day. Pallin was able to secure a back row spot in the Pro Round 14 final, after taking a win the LCQ (last change qualifier). From the back row of the Pro Round 14 Final, Pallin came out towards the back of the pack and had an incident were he went off the track, but as the race continued on, Pallin was able to maneuver around some carnage from other racers and was able to find fast lines and moved himself up to an impressive fourth place finish.

   Pallin is currently sitting in seventh place overall in the 2022 Snocross Pro Class.

PRO / PETERSON

   Rookie Pro Rider (and 2021 Pro Lite Champ) Adam Peterson was eager for the Lake Geneva National and started out Round 13 with a bang! With a third place and a win in his Pro qualifying rounds, Peterson was able to secure a third place pick in the front row of the Pro Final that night. Off of the start, Peterson shot out of the gate and was sitting around sixth place going past the first corner and down the first downhill. As the race pressed on Peterson continued to move up positions and was sitting in fourth place. With two laps left to go, Peterson was able to capitalize on a podium finish as the leader made a mistake allowing Peterson to move up a position into third place. This was Peterson’s third Pro podium finish in the 2022 season.

   On Sunday, for Round 14, Peterson was ready for day two and started out the day with a win in round one qualifying and after an off in round two, was still able to make impressive moves and finish in fourth place. On the line of the Pro Round 14 Final, Peterson had a great gate pick in the front row. At the green light, Peterson ripped out of the gate and was running towards the front of the pack. As the first lap continued on, Peterson had contact from another rider, causing him to go off track. After regaining his breath and composure, Peterson re-entered the race and still managed to finish in 11th place.

   Peterson is currently sitting in a tie for the ninth place overall in the 2022 Snocross Pro Class.

PRO LITE / BESTER

   Pro Lite Rider, Ryley Bester was excited to carry over his momentum from his second place podium the weekend prior. In qualifying, Bester was very consistent earning a second place finish in both rounds, allowing him a fourth place gate pick for the final that night. Off of the line Ryley had a good start but was pinched out after the first uphill and corner pushing him back. As the final continued Bester was able to make some great passes and finished out the night in fifth place.

   On Sunday, Bester was ready to take on the final day of racing. In qualifying, Bester’s results were similar to the day before with taking two second place finishes in his qualifying and earning the third place spot in the front row of the Pro Lite Round 14 final. Off the line of the final, Bester shot out of the gate towards the front of the pack and continued to put on heavy pressure and while battling for third place Bester and another rider made contact causing a mechanical issue with his sled and ending his race early in 15th place.

   Bester is currently sitting in 3rd place in 2022 Snocross Pro Lite Class.

PRO AM PLUS 30 / LIEDERS

   Pro AM Plus 30 rider, Andy Lieders was back to his winning ways and also competed on Sunday in the Pro Lite Class. On Saturday, in Pro AM Plus 30, Lieders swept the day taking two first place finishes in his qualifying rounds and earning a win under the lights. Lieders set the fastest lap of the race by more than six seconds and this marked his fifth win of the season. 

   On Sunday, for Pro Lite, Lieders took second place and fifth place in his qualifying rounds, allowing him a ninth place gate pick in the final Sunday afternoon. Lieders had a mid pack start but was able to make good line choices and his consistency earned him sixth place finish.

   Lieders is currently sitting in fourth place overall in the 2022 Snocross Pro Plus 30 Class.
