Barbara Jean Gilderhus
Barb passed away on July 11, 2022. She was born in Minneapolis, MN to Florence and John Berntson. Barb had three sisters, Beverly, Karen, Joyce and two brothers (Bob) Loren and Jerry Ecklund. Barb grew up in south Minneapolis and attended Roosevelt High School, graduation class of 1956. Barb worked for U.S. Bank for many years until retirement at age 65. After retirement she moved to the Longville area with Paul Dennie where they owned a cabin on Woman Lake.
Preceded in death by parents John and Florence Berntson (Peltier). Sisters Joyce Helton, Beverly Brown, Karen Lenerd and brother Loren (Bob) Ecklund and Jerry Ecklund. Very caring and loving aunt Audrey, and Eric who raised Barb through childhood. Plus, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Barb is survived by her partner Paul Dennie of 38 years who Barb loved very much. Daughter Vicki Fischbach and Bonz; son David Gilderhus and Sheila, grandchildren Lee Gilderhus and Monica, Blake Gilderhus and Brittany, Grant Gilderhus, Renee Fischbach and Josh, Jamie Fischbach, Great grandchildren Cooper, Colton and David Gilderhus. Cousins, relatives, and many friends. Special shout-out to her “Lifetime Forever Friends” Sandy Stein, Coleen Tachousky, Marion Paulson, Karen Hagmen, Bonnie Kirchofer, Gail Richmond and Joanne Robillard. Also special friend and Nephew Jim and Mona Way.
Barb loved her family, grandchildren, relatives and friends and lifelong soulmate Paul. Barb was always happy to be with them or talk on the phone with them. Barb had a great smile and always a kind word for everyone. Barb liked to play golf with her many friends in the Longville area Women’s Golf League, also loved to play cards and played in the Bridge Club in the Longville area. Also loved to go out to eat, especially with friends. Barb Lived on Woman Lake. I would see her sitting and looking out of the window. I would ask what are you looking at and she would say “I love it here”.
Barb will be missed but not forgotten. The world has lost a beautiful Soul, but God has gained one.
