Lisa Marie (Johnson) Tanner

Lisa McLane was born in New Port, OR on Dec. 9, 1960 to parents Lyle and Norma (Overholser) McLane. She grew up in Bremerton, WA and was the middle child of five, two older sisters and two younger brothers. Later in life, she learned of a younger sister (Kim) that was given up for adoption at birth.

In 1981 Lisa gave birth to her first daughter Jessica Dawn Niles. She then moved to Minnesota in 1988 where she married Scott Johnson of Remer. She then had two more daughters, Christina Marie Johnson and Sonja Brooke Johnson.

Lisa was an extremely driven and free spirited woman known for her creativity, huge caring and generous heart, unique sense of humor, spot on sarcasm, her love for animals (especially horses, cats and dogs) and her unconditional love for her daughters. Crafting and wood working were some of her greatest passions. She spent most of her time at home rasing her daughters through their school years while making cute teddy bears and other original, some more exotic, crafts.

Some of her occupations outside of the home consisted of school janitor at Northland public school, a care giver at Stille Haven Hus, Next Inovations and most recently as a valet at Northern Lights Casino, where she met her husband Dallas Tanner (whom she married in 2013). Together they enjoyed many travels, going on vacations with family, visiting family and spending time with their youngest granddaughter.

In 2021 Lisa and Dallas moved to Boy River so her daughter Sonja could assist in caring for Lisa as her health declined. After several trips on life flight, Lisa was finally diagnosed with Stage Four COPD. In the end of May she was put into hospice to spend her remaining days at home with her loved ones, (husband Dallas, daughter Sonja (Matt) and granddaughter Serenity) who provided round-the-clock care until she passed away.

Lisa is survived by husband Dallas Tanner of Boy River; her daughters Jessica Dawn Niles of Washington, Christina Marie Johnson of Bloomington, Sonja Brook Johnson of Boy River; three granddaughters, Alexandra Celest and Anja Zoe Munzer and Serenity Brooke Johnson; sister Linda Denny of Alaska; nephew and nieces and many unofficially adopted children that only knew her by mom. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.

A non-traditional service, as per Lisa’s request. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 13 at 2402 102nd St. NE, Remer.
