Lieders picks up third straight win in Fargo Snocross
Longville, MN (February 8, 2022) - With a three week break from the 2022 Snocross Season, due to a reschedule of the Deadwood National, the series was back to racing action in Fargo, North Dakota. Despite the temps below zero and wind chill reaching around twenty below, things were heating up track-side at the Red River Valley Raceway, as the crew at Snocross put together a massive track, featuring technical rhythms and big air for the two-day National.
PRO / PALLIN
Team LaVallee’s Pro Rider and series Fan Favorite, Kyle Pallin was eager for redemption in Fargo with missing a podium finish by inches in Dubuque. Pallin started out the weekend with a 4th in Round 1 qualifying and in Round 2, he was charging hard in 2nd place with one lap to go in the second qualifying round, a mechanical problem resulted in a 6th place finish. Qualifying was good enough for 10th place pick in the front row of the Pro Round 5 Final. Under the lights Friday night, Pallin shot out of the gate and was sitting mid-pack, with a few passes and battling with fellow teammate, Adam Peterson, Pallin finished out in 5th place Friday night.
On Saturday, for Round 6, Pallin had similar qualifying results to Friday, earning a 4th and 6th place, it again allowed Pallin to line up in the front row of the final Saturday night. Off the line in the Pro Round 6 final, Pallin ripped out of the gate and was mid-pack going into the first turn. With some great moves on a track that did not have a lot of passing opportunities, he rounded out the weekend in 7th place.
Pallin is currently sitting in 7th place overall in the 2022 Snocross Pro Class.
PRO / PETERSON
Rookie Pro Rider (and 2021 Pro Lite Champ) Adam Peterson started out the Fargo National with a 6th place finish in his first qualifying heat and won the second heat. That win helped Peterson secure a great gate pick and qualified 5th for the Pro Round 5 Final. Peterson had a great start and was in 4th place. As the demanding race continued, Peterson had contact from another rider, causing him to fall back a few positions but he continued to navigate his way throughout the remainder of the race and finished just behind Pallin in 6th place.
On Saturday, for Round 6, Peterson was consistent in his qualifying rounds, taking a third place in both heats, allowing him into the front row of the Round 6 Pro Final. Off the line in the final, Peterson ripped out of the gate and was towards the font of the back. As the race was in its final laps, Peterson was threading the needle for 5th place and unfortunately made contact with another rider and went down, finishing out in 13th place.
Peterson is currently sitting in 8th place overall in the 2022 Snocross Pro Class.
PRO LITE / BESTER
Pro Lite Rider, Ryley Bester started out the Fargo National with a third and first place finish in his qualifying rounds, allowing him a spot in the front row of the Pro Lite Round 5 Final. Under the lights, Bester ripped a holeshot and was riding flawless as he made his way around the track for the first lap, but the race was quickly shut down as a multi-sled pile up turned the race to a red flag stop. Due the race being red flagged early on, it was a complete restart, meaning no staggered restart and all sleds lined back up at the starting gate. As the green light went for the second time, Bester bolted off of the line and was flipped end-over-end before even making it into turn one. Bester managed to get back on his sled and finished out the 7 minute plus 2 lap Pro Lite Final in 10th place.
On Saturday a mechanical issue in the first heat caused him to finish in 6th place, but with a win in the LCQ (last chance qualifier), was able to line up in the Round 6 Pro Lite Final in the back row. Under the lights and in the back row, he had a lot to overcome. Riding smart and smooth, he navigated his way to an impressive 5th place finish.
Bester is currently sitting in 4th place in 2022 Snocross Pro Lite Class.
PRO AM PLUS 30 / LIEDERS
Pro AM Plus 30 rider, Andy Lieders signed up for the Pro Lite and Pro AM Plus 30 class in Fargo. With Lieders taking a 3rd place podium in the Pro Lite class at the 2022 Season Opener, Lieders was eager for Friday’s racing. With earning a consistent third place finish in both of his qualifying rounds, Lieders had a nice gate pick under the lights for the Pro Lite Round 5 Final. A mechanical issue ended his night early.
On Saturday, Lieders continued his winning streak, dominating all day in the Pro AM Plus 30 Class. Earning two wins in his qualifying rounds and under the lights Saturday night, Lieders was able to get out front early and picked up his third straight win of the season.
Lieders is currently sitting in 1st place overall in the 2022 Snocross Pro Plus 30 Class.
