On Wednesday, Sept. 1, the LongBow Ladies Golf League had 28 ladies join in for a day of golf.
The ladies played the game of the day, “Solheim” which is a team event. Two pairs in each foursome play six holes each of a two-person scramble, alternate shot and then one best net ball of two. The scores of the two pairs are added together for the team score.
The following ladies walked away as winners.
In first place, with a 165, was the team of Mary Jane Black, Cherrie Madsen, Patty Nypower and Diane Peukert.
The second place team, with a 167, included Chris Barnes, Mary Kay Googins, Laura Mayer and Lisa Tuller.
Third place, with a 170 (determined by a tie breaker on the first handicap hole), was the team of Peg Cashman, Mary Hagelie, Connie Halley and Dianne Larson.
Diane Peukert scored the lone chip in of the day on No. 16, while Cherrie Madsen walked away with the only birdie on No. 15.
This was the final regular round of golf for the season. Next week the ladies will play nine holes before their annual end of the season lunch and member meeting.
