LongBow Women’s Golf League results

   The LongBow Ladies Golf League met on Wednesday, June 23 with 28 ladies joining in for a wonderful day of golf. This was also the first of three qualifying rounds for the league championship, where overall gross and net winners, plus four flights of low gross and net winners will be announced at the league’s year-end meeting in September. 

   The ladies played the game of the day, “In the Square” with the following walking away as winners.

   In first place, with a 137, was the team of Chris Barnes, Karen Cochran, Patty Nypower and Pat Roush.

  The second place team, with a 139 determined by a tie breaker on first handicap hole, included Mary Hagelie, Jeanne Major, Ginny Muller and Denise Plachecki. 

   Third place, also with a 139 and also determined by a tie breaker on third handicap hole, was the team of Connie Halley, Suzie Mandsager, Kathy Newton and Diane Peukert.

   Chris Barnes captured low gross with her 85 while Karen Cochran took home low net with her 67. 

   Chip-ins this week went to Mona Emerson on No. 15 for a birdie; Mary Kay Googins, No. 1; Dianne Larson, No. 17 and Laura Varner, No. 3. The other birdies this week were scored by Chris Barnes, No. 12 and No. 17 and Pat Roush, No. 2 and No. 15.
