Wolske lights up Raiders in Lady Eagles win over Greenway
Chloe Wolske, whose offensive production has been improving steadily over the course of the season, did not disappoint. She led the Ladies with 17 points and brought down six rebounds on the night. Kali Wake would knock down eight, while Makendra Anderson took down six boards and Kristine Johnson had four take-aways.
The cool hand shooting and stout opposing defense led the Ladies to a 77-38 loss.
On January 16, the girls traveled to Greenway and came away with their first win of the season. Last Thursday night the Raiders paid a visit to the friendly confines of NHS, and went home having not taken a win from the Lady Eagles this season.
"This was an entire team effort to pull out this win! We were in foul trouble from the tip-off, we went through the entire bench and ended the game with only four players on the floor. That hasn't happened to me since a double overtime game against Sebeka eleven years ago. The girls showed great hustle right through to the final buzzer," said an elated Coach Kovall.
Wolske dominated with 28 points, four steals and a stellar 14 of 15 from the charity stripe and 10 for 10 from the field down the stretch for the win. Keyanna Gross added 10 points and Johnson, seven.
"I'm really proud of the way they played. I know they all would like some redemption with three conference games in a row coming up in the next week," concluded Coach Kovall.
The Lady Eagles travel to Deer River Tuesday, February 18, then host Hill City Thursday night and Nashwauk on Tuesday.[[In-content Ad]]
