Willie was born in 1938 to Albert and Vivian Landrith in Keithsburg, Illinois. He attended school in Sciota, IL. After graduating high school, Willie served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was united in marriage to Jacqueline Gilmer on October 26, 1968 in St. Paul, MN. Willie was employed as a tree trimmer in Illinois, and then as a mechanic in the twin cities after moving to Minnesota. After moving to northern Minnesota, Willie operated his own garage for many years. Willie also was a skilled carpenter, who owned and operated his own sawmill. He loved woodworking, watching football and wrestling.
Willie is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Vivian; a daughter; and three brothers. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; daughters, Alice (Joe) Buschmann of Pequot Lakes, MN; Shelly Fanth (Mark Tietjen) of Longville, MN; Robin (Tim) Ostrander of Stacy, MN; sons, John (Debbie) Landrith, Marine on St. Croix, MN, Thomas (Luana) Fanth of Hill City, MN; sister, Carolyn (James) Foss of IL, 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday November 11, 2017 beginning at 10:00 AM and continuing until the 11:00 funeral service at St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, MN. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Remer, MN. Pastor Seth Scheuerlein will officiate.
