William "Bill" Dale Miller
Bill grew up in Richfield and graduated from Pillsbury Military Academy in Owatonna in 1949. He worked for Northern States Power Co. for one year on a line crew, then attended Grinnell College for one year, and then two years in the US Army Signal Corps with his last year in Pusan, Korea at a tele-communications terminal. He married Anastasia Domeier ("Stacy") in 1954 and attended the University of Minnesota for two years studying engineering. Bill joined the US Fish & wildlife Service in 1958 as draftsman, and retired in 1994 as a Civil Engineering Technician after 36 years of employment. The Miller's moved to their lake cabin in 1999, and became active members in Salem Lutheran Church of Longville. Bill was Supervisor for Inguadona Township for 10 years, and membership chairman of the Trelipe Lakes Association for 10 years.
Bill pursued a variety of hobbies over the years; auto mechanics, restoring old vehicles, fishing, camping, hunting, acrylic oil painting, coin and stamp collecting, reading, photography, water skiing, woodworking, welding, genealogy, and bird watching.
Bill is survived by his wife and best friend Anastasia, son Steve and Jill of Kimball, MN, son Dale of Bloomington, daughter Wendy and Chris of Elk River, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
The funeral service for Bill will be held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Salem Lutheran Church in Longville with Rev. Paul Svingen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. The Dennis Funeral Home of Longville assisted the family in making service arrangements.
